From a soup of random chemicals life emerged, writhing and squirming! Humans came from all that gooey, smelly stuff!
Evolution happens whenever self-reproducing entities exist in a suitable medium. Through natural random changes, variations accumulate, and some of the variants are more likely than the rest to survive and reproduce. Those are the ones that eventually become the most common. Over time, different interacting species appear, creating ever-more complex ecosystems.
